2010 honda fit review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Practical and fun to drive. introductionthe honda fit is a sporty subcompact that's fun to drive, practical and economical. The 1. 5-liter engine delivers 117-horsepower at 6600 rpm and 106 pound-feet of torque at 4800 rpm. Its overall size is just right for many drivers.  the fit was redesigned for 2009. New styling resulted in a more upscale appearance, with better materials and seats inside. Improvements included better performance and slightly more power on the road. Larger standard wheels helped as well. There have been no additional changes for 2010. The fit was first introduced to the u. Market as a 2007 model. lineupthe 2010 honda fit comes in two models with three trim variations: fit, fit sport, and fit sport with navigation. The primary differences are in standard equipment and technology upgrades. The sport comes with a five-speed manual 16,410) or five-speed automatic transmission with sport mode and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters 17,260).  the fit sport with navi also comes with manual transmission 18,260) or five-speed automatic with paddle shifters 19,110); and adds vehicle stability assist (vsa) as well as satellite navigation.  safety features on all models include front and side airbags, side curtain airbags, seat belt pretensioners, active front head restraints, and anti-lock brakes (abs) with electronic brake-force distribution (ebd). walkaroundthe fit has always been considered modern, though few people would have called the original, 2007-08 model stylish. Outward visibility. interiorsince it debuted for 2007, what's inside the fit has been perhaps its most talked about feature, both good and bad. Case in point: while the seats adjusted into a multitude of handy configurations, the quality of the materials left many wanting.  but along with all the other changes last year, honda improved critical elements of the interior, while leaving the awesome utility of the little car mostly intact. To begin, the new model sits taller and wider, providing slightly more room for passengers.  the fit got new front seats as well. The large knobs that control the environmental settings curve around the stereo controls on the driver's side, making the design stylish and easy to reach, though the plastic controls still feel a bit thin to the touch.  other high points of the new interior are the in-dash cupholders and split glovebox, though both upper and lower compartments are too small to be of much use. Even with all these revisions, the best thing about the fit hasn't changed much: magic seats. There's even a storage compartment under the seats for small items.  interior room ranges from almost-spacious in front to adequate in back, especially for a car this size. Visibility from the driver's seat is excellent. (the side mirrors are 30 percent larger than those on the previous model.) the most noticeable difference is up front, where a broader front windshield and close-up seating improve sightlines and feel for the road. Slender roof pillars front and rear minimize blind spots and create a more airy feel to the cabin. driving impressionthe fit is fun to drive. For everyday driving it's an obedient and comfortable conveyance, thanks to last year’s new seats and suspension changes that smoothed out the previous model's ride.  while the fit's power supply is modest, we found that driving one equipped with either the manual transmission or an automatic with paddle shifters upped the fun meter (relative to the base automatic) by allowing drivers to dip down into the vehicle's torque band when needed.  on twisty corners, the fit is much more fun, and almost as efficient as the scion xd or nissan versa. Most of the time, the rear of the car nicely follows the front, even under aggressive duress, and with its electric power steering (improved last year, but still lacking in touch), the fit communicates its intent clearly, if not with authority. We found the fit to be quite tossable, the kind of car that's easy and predictable under spirited driving, without much wallow or ungainly lean in the corners.  we found that the clutch on the manual transmission easy to manipulate and quite fun to operate.  most versions of the fit deliver an epa-estimated 27/33 miles per gallon, city/highway. The one exception is the base-level automatic, which manages an even better 28/35, thanks probably to its 33 percent taller (overall) top gear. It delivers engineering excellence and value. Drawbacks include a noisy and thrashy ride, slightly numb steering and a small (split) glovebox.  brian chee filed this report to newcartestdrive. Com after his test drive of the honda fit models in southern california. model lineuphonda fit 14,900); honda fit sport 16,410); honda fit sport navi 18,260). assembled insuzuka, japan. options as testednone. model testedhonda fit sport navi 18,260). The sport gets steering wheel mounted paddle shifters when equipped with the automatic transmission. The sport adds many niceties such as alloy wheels, fog lights, leather steering wheel, keyless entry with security system and cruise control. Electronic vehicle stability control and a navigation system are optional on the sport. The fit is a carryover for 2010 after being completely redesigned for the 2009 model year. 1997 honda accord review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. The accord has redefined the family sedan by offering a near-perfect combination of performance and comfort. It's durable, and it's really good at everything. The trunk is big enough to hold all the soccer or skating gear. It's quiet and comfortable enough on the freeway to make a long weekend trip enjoyable, and stylish enough for even a formal evening on the town.  every part of the car has been repeatedly refined through five major redesigns, the most recent in 1994. Refined is the key word here; the development of the accord has definitely been evolutionary rather than revolutionary. But even though 1997 will be the last model year for this generation, there are still several notable improvements.  the result of honda's continuing efforts is a thoroughly refined mid-size entry that has been one of the top two selling cars in the u. Pleasant but forgettable, this is not a car that will stand out in a crowd. When the car was redesigned in '94, honda executives acknowledged that they had been conservative, perhaps too conservative, in updating the accord's appearance. As newer rivals like the chrysler cirrus and dodge stratus have been introduced over the past three years, the accord has definitely come to look a little dated.  still, it is a well-proportioned and graceful car. Easy to read, white-on-black temperature and fuel gauges flank a larger tachometer and speedometer. Two large rotary switches just to the right control the interior fan and temperature, and the air-conditioning control buttons are large and accessible.  two buttons for the cruise control are comfortably positioned on the steering wheel, and the radio has knobs and buttons that are also easy to use while driving. None of that could be simpler or more convenient.  two small drawbacks come to mind, though. First, the horn buttons are too small and located on the edges of the wheel, rather than a handier center-punch arrangement. And the cupholders, two plastic indentations tastefully covered by a door, are marginal--awkward to reach, and too close to the elbows.  the rest of the interior is nicely done. The fabrics and plastics are pleasing to the eye and the touch, with excellent finishing throughout. As for safety, all accords come with a driver and passenger side air bag, but antilock brakes aren't available on dx models and cost $850 extra on lx models.  seating comfort is well suited for long drives. While the back isn't as spacious as that of the cirrus or stratus, headroom and leg room are still more than adequate.  the back seat folds down to expand the trunk. Let's go!' honda's philosophy has always been to provide enough to just get the job done. The result is polite power.  it's, smooth, though, and amazingly quiet, producing little vibration from idle to freeway speeds. Although the redesigned automatic is supposed to shift more smoothly, we didn't notice much difference. The accord's double wishbone suspension is as sophisticated as any of its competitors. As a result, the accord is quick and responsive to the wheel. Life holds enough minor hassles. The accord's ease and reliability are what have endeared it to millions of american drivers. assembled ineast liberty, oh. options as testedabs, automatic transmission. model testedlx sedan. 2013 honda pilot review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. The honda pilot is a powerful crossover suv, engineered for quality and durability, as well as high levels of functionality and comfort. It features unit body construction and a fully independent suspension, designed to provide a more car-like driving experience with crisp, predictable handling and a smooth ride. S variable cylinder management (vcm) technology, an engine cylinder-deactivation system that is capable of operating in either 6-cylinder mode for power or 4- and 3-cylinder modes for efficiency. Standard equipment on the lx includes a lift-up glass hatch, 17-inch wheels, cd player, tri-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, three rows of seating, bluetooth wireless phone/audio streaming and 2gb of internal media storage; ex trims add 18-inch aluminum wheels, fog lights, power driver seat, homelink, compass, and body colored mirrors, door handles and side moldings, while ex-l trims are further outfitted with a power liftgate, power moonroof, leather upholstery, heated front seats, and satellite radio. 2002 honda cr-v review this car review is specific to this model, not the actual vehicle for sale. Comfortable runabout vehicle grows up. introductionhonda is treading on tender parchment with its new cr-v. Actually, it's neither. In the middle is the lx 4wd 19,200). Anti-lock brakes come standard on ex 4wd, but are not available on the other models. Front-seat side airbags are standard on the ex but are a $250 option on the lx. walkaroundthe cr-v is growing up. When they were introduced in 1997, the toyota rav4 and the cr-v cemented the creation of a new class of vehicle in america: the cute-ute.  not quite a sport-utility, but more than a car, both are built on car platforms but with sport-utility features. They are small enough to be considered cute. Their upright seating position, all-wheel drive and decent cargo space make them seem like small utility vehicles. Their highway-friendly suspension and handling make them feel like cars. Like the first rav4, the cr-v kind of faded into the background when other, powerful contenders responded. Working together, ford introduced its escape, while mazda launched its tribute. Chevrolet and suzuki came out with their shared tracker and vitara, respectively. Hyundai launched the santa fe. Just recently, land rover introduced its luxurious and highly capable freelander, while jeep launched its highly capable and slightly larger liberty. With all this competition, the cr-v and rav4 appealed primarily to loyal honda and toyota customers. Not cars, but clearly not serious offroaders, the cr-v and rav4 quickly became also-ran wannabees.  the 2002 honda cr-v rebuts that characterization.  there's less activity in the body panels, which suggests a more robust persona. Of a.  still, the overall look is a plus. Cruise control is standard, as is the adjustable steering column.  seats are comfy. The rear bench has three-point belts and head restraints at all three positions.  numerically, the new cr-v not only improves on its predecessor, but it also bests the competition in virtually every measure. Only the 2002 toyota rav4 beats the cr-v's 40. 9-inch front seat headroom, and by less than half an inch. The '02 ford escape joins the rav4 in providing more front-seat leg room, by 0. 3 and 0. 9 inches, respectively, over the cr-v's 41. 3 inches.  otherwise, the cr-v is the emporer of the chart in roominess, including cargo space. Here, in every configuration, with the rear seat in whatever position, it's the champ by more than 7 cubic feet over the second-place '02 ford escape's 64. 8 cubic feet, and by more than 26 cubic feet over the freelander's 46. 6 cubic feet. It also has 3. 9 cubic feet more cargo space than the '01 cr-v.  there's a cool, collapsible tray table betwixt the front seats, with a couple of cup holders and a recess for a cell phone or whatever. The picnic table in back that does double duty as the cover for the spare tire bin has grown by several inches over the table in the original cr-v. Everything else is where it should be, blessed by 21 storage bins adroitly spread about the cabin.  initially, we had trouble finding the emergency brake. It's subtly integrated into the vertical panel forward of the center console. As odd as the placement might seem at first, over time it makes ergonomic sense. driving impressionhere's the fun part.  the simple numbers tell part of the tale. Horsepower is up to 160 (from 146 last year), torque to 162 pound-feet (from 133), yet fuel economy remains essentially the same, giving up only 1 mile per gallon on the epa's highway cycle.  the real story, though, is in what the numbers deliver. And the 2002 cr-v delivers its additional torque at 3600 revolutions per minute, significantly sooner than its predecessor's 4500 rpm. Virtually every aspect of the cr-v's engine, from valve timing and even duration and lift to fuel injection to spark is micro-managed by a computer. The system is called i-vtec, for intelligent variable valve timing and lift electronic control. In addition to boosting power while maintaining fuel economy, i-vtec also helps the cr-v qualify as a low-emission vehicle.  the 2002 cr-v's power figures put it well ahead of the competition on the charts, too. Despite the fact the track is essentially unchanged, the new cr-v feels more sure-footed through the twisties than the '01.  honda says the suspension's dynamics are unchanged. Honda's engineers spent a lot of time putting the upper portions of the cr-v on a serious diet. Wherever possible, high-tensile metals were used in window frames and roof structures. Major masses, batteries, power motors and high-tech stuff, were located as low as possible relative to the platform, all with an eye to positioning the center of gravity close to the pavement.  it worked. No, the cr-v isn't a go-kart. But neither is it a top-heavy, sport utility. summaryfinally, honda has confronted the prospect of trying to catch up, a position the carmaker's competition has grown used to occupying for lo, these many years.  for the most part, with the cr-v, at least, it's managing. Yes, a v6 would be nice, but it's not necessary, given the carmaker's reputation for quality and durability. Anti-lock Brakes✔ Cruise Control
